Guidelines for Submissions
- There is no deadline – you can send pitches and articles throughout the year. However, time-sensitive topics should be submitted promptly.
- Submit only original, unpublished work. Do not send content that has been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
- Ensure your submission is factually accurate. Double-check and provide sources for all data and claims.
- Include a one-line bio at the end of your article and, if desired, mention your Twitter, LinkedIn, or Instagram handles.
- Format: Submit your work in Word format only. PDFs will not be accepted.
- We have a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Any plagiarized content will result in a permanent ban from submitting to Wait4Ads.
- Submissions must be accompanied by an undertaking stating that the content has not been submitted for publication elsewhere.
- Attach a high-resolution photograph of yourself.
- Due to a high volume of submissions, we will contact you only if we accept your piece. If you do not receive a response within six business days, feel free to submit your article elsewhere.
- Final edits rest with the editorial team.
Guidelines on Style for Authors
Word Count:
- Guides & How-Tos: 600 – 1200 words/4 minutes read
- Industry Insights & Reviews: 1000 – 1500 words.
- Long-form/Explainers: 1500 – 2500 words.
Headlines & Titles:
Headlines must be concise and relevant to the article’s theme. Titles should summarize the key idea of your piece.
Introductions:
Begin with a short summary or a hook before the main introduction. The introduction should be engaging and informative.
References & Citations:
Hyperlink all references within the text. If no online source is available, use in-text citations.
Language & Tone:
- Use clear, simple, and engaging language.
- Avoid technical jargon unless necessary; explain terms for a general audience.
- British English spelling and grammar are preferred.
- Avoid prejudicial or outdated terminology.
Quotes:
Use quotes that add value and uniqueness to the article. If a quote is unclear or grammatically incorrect, paraphrase it instead.
Dates Format:
Follow the month-date-year format, e.g., January 26, 2025.
